JUNE HELLEN OMBOGA

Sour Love

She had this intense feeling
A feeling of deep affection
An affection she thought would last
Locked deeply inside her heart
Little did she know it would be temporarily

She thought time would heal all wounds
But years, Months, weeks, days, hours, have
gone
The pain still fresh, leaves permanent scars
The pain that is so intense and too much to
grasp
All she feels its emptiness inside her

At first she thought it was a dream
Since she loved him so deeply and yet so unde-
niable
Until the reality hit that their love wasn’t mutual
The pain she felt, stabbed her heart not once
She cried a river, weeping and bleeding an
ocean of blood

And now she got nothing more to lose
She already lost what she thought was her
world
It was hard for her to let him go
Since she was already diving in love wholehear-
tedly
But she had to let it go for the sake of her-
self.
If you were my rose, then I’d be your sun,
Painting your rainbows when the rains come.
I’d change my orbit to banish the night,
As to keep you in my nurturing light.
If you were my world then I’d be your moon,
Your silent protector at night shining in the
gloom.
Our fates intertwined two bodies in motion
through time and space our dance of
devotion.
If you were my island, then I’d be your sea,
Caressing your shores, soft and gentle I’d be.
My tidal embrace would leave gifts on your
sands
But by current and storm I’d ward your gentle
lands
I’d whisper that no one could match your sweet
charm
And you make a dream come true when you
hold me in your arms
I’d tell you night and day how much you mean
to me
I’d whisper that my love for you is as deep as
the sea
I’d whisper that the touch of you make my love
worthwhile
And you brighten up my day with just a smile
And darling, if you’re counting the sweet things
I say to you
I’m sure you’ll agree that by now it’s more than
two
No words can describe what you mean to me
No one can take your angel wings that through
my eyes I see
And darling if you let me through the coming
years
I’d devote my life to whispering sweet things in
your ear
I love your shrug and your warm hug
Love your tender and warm embrace
But most of all, my living doll
I love the smile upon your face.

I love your look, the way you cook.
I love your heart, your soul and mind.
I love the way you laugh and play,
How you always treat me so kind.

I love the fact you are intact.
I love your style, charm and grace,
Bur most of all, my living doll,
I love the smile upon your face.
I love your charms, your loving arms
How you hold me so tenderly.
I love the bliss, the happiness
When you’re making sweet love to me

I love when you get naughty, too
And kiss me all over the place,
But most of all my living doll
I love the smile upon your face.

I don’t think you will
Ever fully understand
How you touched my life
And made me who I am.

You are the keeper of my dreams
The man whom hold my heart,
The one I want to spend my life with,
The one with whom I will always stand

Stand beside through thick and thin
Through all that life throws our way
Knowing that this special love we share
Will guide us each and every day

I don’t think you could ever feel
All the love I have to give
And I’m sure you’ll never realize
You’ve been my will to live.

When I look into your eyes,
I feel the calmness you bring
I feel as free as the deep blue waves in the sea,
Free as can be no destination desired

I glide across the ocean like a bird soars in the
sky.
I hear the smooth and rhythmic beat of your
heart.
It takes me to a place called paradise,
A place of calmness and serenity.

A place I will stay forever,
A place in your eyes.

Though the sun sets and finalizes another day,
It leaves us with an array of color and hope,
Hope that a new day will come,
Hope that life with you will continue to be

As it is now.

It fills my heart with gladness knowing that
even though the sun is being replaced with

night, when I lay my head to rest
You will be by my side
Comforting me tonight

You can take me on a holiday
But I prefer to sit at home
You can buy me chocolate and roses
But I just want your hand to hold

You can dine me all night long but I would
rather lie under the stars while we listen to
our favorite songs, you can give me jewels and
gold but if you find me a feather

I will want to grow old

I wish not to love you so much,
Only to love you well.
Much is nothing but quantity.
But well proves quality.

I wish not to love you much
Only to love you well.
In sickness, in anger
In love, tears and health.

I wish not to love you so much,
Only to love you well
May our days be filled with experiences
And end in each other’s arms

I wish not to love you so much
Only to love you well
Wishes can only take you so far
It’s doing something well that lets us win

So for that purpose
I wish not to love you much
And all the way then from now
I only wish to love you well

You brought me sunshine
When I only saw rain.
You brought me laughter
When I only felt pain
Romantics at heart?
Love at first sight?
Have I known you before?
God! This feels so right!
Have I met you before?
Another time, another place?
If it’s only one night
Will it bring us disgrace?

What are these feelings?
Must they be temporary?
Just to make you happy
Seems so necessary.
I want you to know
Cause I’ll never forget
Knowing your smile
Your kisses and yet....
Dreams are something
That can’t always come true
Nothing more we can say
Nothing more we can do.
