Mother is the name of a flower

Translation: Jyotirmoy Nandi

Mother is the name of a flower,
Mother is a bird,
Yet I spend my whole day
Together with my mother.

I’m without pace
If there’s not my mom.
When I’m hungry or sleepy
I search for my mom.

First of all I call my mother
getting up in the morning.
But where has gone my mother--
where she is gone dodging me.

Mother is the name of a flower,
And the flower is priceless,
Oh, what a fragrance it has
which soothes our heart.

Mother is the name of a flower,
Mother is a bird,

If she flies away,
So I grab her tight.
If she flies away
what will remain for me?
I can’t live without mom.
So I always remain in her touch.
I rub her affection in my body
and draw dreams in my eyes.
